The 146th Airlift Wing's Services flight for the first time were selected for recognition nationally, as they competed for the title of best dining facility operations in the Air National Guard. They were place in the 'Top 3' in dining facilities selected for recognition out of 75 Air National Guard wings who were submitted.

We are a combat ready organization prepared to support the U.S. and allied forces, as well as provide disaster response, humanitarian relief, and large scale aerial firefighting capabilities to the state of California and the nation.

This year Kris Kringle himself visited the 146th Airlift Wing to take photos with families as the wing celebrated their bi-annual family day. Word on the street that Santa Claus was coming to town spread fast as sightings of the Grinch soon were confirmed as he began to show up in many of the pictures of families trying to take photos with Santa. Despite the Grinches "photo bomb" attempts, the celebration continued and offered family fun and valuable information to enrich the lives of Airmen and their families.
The Fatality Search and Rescue Recovery Team (FSRT) is currently deployed to Paradise, CA. They are a 10-member team that has cleared 89 structures since their arrival on Nov. 15. They work hand-in-hand with FEMA, local law enforcement, and Army Search and Extraction Team.
The 146th Airlift Wing was activated last weekend to assist CAL FIRE and civilian agencies to help contain the #WoolseyFire which flared up on Tuesday.

Our MAFFS support and aircrew have been busy helping CAL FIRE battle the #WoolseyFire over the last few days. Check out this update to see the progress made on fighting the wildfires that prompted a mandatory evacuation of NAWS Point Mugu and threatened our own Air National Guard Station next door.
Our MAFFS firefighters are finally getting a break from the high winds and went on their first flight Tuesday in support of the Woolsey Fire. Stay tuned for updates on where our birds are flying and for more photos and video of our troops at work with CAL FIRE.
