"We're here to validate readiness, capability and compliance," said Colonel Steven Legrand, Compliance Inspection team chief. Col. Legrand arrived with his team of 42 inspectors Friday afternoon after a long five hour flight from Scott Air Force Base, Ill. to the clear skies and warm weather of Channel Islands. Making a gesture of a 'growing' Pinocchio nose, Legrand joked "We are trying to make this process easier and less painful!" He promised the inspection would be tough but fair and that long briefings would be consolidated and kept short.

The team will be on base until mid-week and will be conducting inspections throughout different areas of the wing. All inspectors will be parking in the first row of spaces in the south parking lot behind building 100. These spaces will be marked with cones and signs so please make sure to leave the spots open for their vehicles. The IG team work station will be in the wing communication's classroom in case anyone needs to locate their inspector. Be sure to render all customs and courtesies and best of luck.
