October Featured Airman of the Month

The 146th Airlift Wing congratulates Airman 1st Class Joseph Ray A. Perez for being October's Featured Airman of the Month. Working in C-130 Aerospace Maintenance, Perez prepares aircraft for flight, maintains the planes while on the ground and fixes any discrepancies that are found on the aircraft. While it may be hard work, he says there is no other job in the Air Force he rather have. Congratulations A1C Perez!

1. When did you enlist in the Air Force, how long have you been in the service?
August 31, 2009, two years and two months

2. What motivated you to enlist in the Air Force?
Further my education and serve in the Armed Forces

3. How has being an Airman changed your point of view on life?
Take life a little more seriously, be more responsible and leadership

4. What's the most important lesson you've learned in the military?
Take responsibility for all of your actions and don't make excuses

5. What is your favorite part/memory about the Air Force?
Basic Military Training

6. If you could deploy anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Puerto Rico

7. If you could choose any Air Force job, which would it be? Why?
None other than a C-130 crew chief because there is always something new to learn everyday.

8. Where did you grow up?
Guam

9. What is your civilian job?
Student and ramp agent

10. What are your hobbies?
Working out at the gym, volleyball and video games

11. What would people be surprised to know about you?
I also want to be a crew chief in the civilian world, A&P mechanic
