146th Airlift Wing hosts Tri-Warfare Middle School Challenge for STEM Students.
California Air National Guard Tech. Sgt. Kristine Thomas from the 115th Airlift Squadron, demonstrates how to wear a safety harness to local area STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) student inside an Air National Guard C-130J aircraft at Channel Islands Air National Guard Station, California. February 21, 2020. The wing hosted the event for the first time, partnering with Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division (NSWC PHD), and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Outreach Coordinator Ramon Flores. Local middle school students were given the opportunity to participate in hands-on learning experiences that demonstrate how engineers use math and science to develop ideas and solve problems.
