CHANNEL ISLANDS AIR NATIONAL GUARD STATION, Calif. -- A Modular Airborne Fire Fighting System equipped C-130E Hercules from the 146th Airlift Wing here is reloaded with Phoschek fire retardant to be dropped on the Simi Fire in Southern California on Oct. 28. Pilots flying eight Air Force C-130 Hercules cargo airplanes have dropped 129,600 gallons of retardant on the Simi fire during 48 sorties and 32 flying hours as of Oct. 29.
