Public Affairs FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions/concerns.
I need to reschedule my appointment, how long in advance should i reschedule?
Answer: Please coordinate with the PA office as soon as you know you must reschedule (COMM) 805-986-7420 or email the public affairs org box. If you cancel an appointment, the PA office will contact you with another calendar invite at the next available date.
I need to get a bio photo expedited for an award/promotion board I have tomorrow, how long does it take to process the photo?
Answer: Per our business rules guide and priority matrix, official photos are designated a priority four designation with a 5-10 day turn around process. Please make an effort to coordinate your appointment promptly. We understand there are instances where last minute requests happen, and the PA office will work with you to expedite the process. NOTE:
I want to take a passport photo, do I need to make an appointment?
Answer: No, the PA office facilitates all passport photos on a walk-in basis. First come, first serve. Note: the PA office produces passport photos for official use only! DO NOT ASK THE PA OFFICE TO TAKE PHOTOS FOR YOUR PERSONAL PASSPORT.
I want to print a photo for a member who is retiring from the unit/ photo for my office. Can you print a sizeable c-130 photo and provide a frame/lithograph?
Answer: per AFI 35-109 3.3.2 Authorized use of Air Force VI resources: The Public Affairs office has designated a folder with commonly used high-resolution aircraft photos – please navigate to the aircraft photo folder here to download a picture of your choice. You can then email the photo to a local store (Walgreen’s CVS, etc.) for low-cost prints. Note: photo products for organizational areas may be provided depicting important missions performed with NCOIC of PA/ Chief of PA concurrence.
Why won’t Public Affairs send a photographer to cover our promotion/retirement ceremonies?
Answer: Per AFI-35-109 220.127.116.11 Authorized Use of Air Force VI Resources DO NOT USE GOVERNMENT-Funded VI RESOURCES to: “Support or document farewell parties or social events unless certified as newsworthy or having historical significance by the base historian or chief of PA.” The Public Affairs office DOES provide a self-help camera for support to official Air Force organization events such as promotions and award ceremonies. Because PA missions are numerous and resources are finite, The Chief of PA and NCOIC of PA manage requests for coverage for promotions and Change of Command ceremonies on a case-by-case basis, which, if accepted, are then assigned a low Priority Level of 4 (Routine). NOTE:
Please review the information below, if the information is correct to accept the invite above. (For time/date changes email the org box a.s.a.p. here)
