Airmen and Firefighters partner for training during confined space rescue exercise.

U.S. Air National Guard members Senior Airman Allan Tan assists Senior Airman Pedro Pescador with the 146th Airlift Wing’s Aircraft Fuel Systems Maintenance Squadron as he inserts himself into inside of a wing of a C-130J aircraft for a “confined space rescue exercise” at the Channel Islands Air National Guard Station Port Hueneme, Calif. April 1, 2017. During a confined space rescue exercise, first-responders with the 146th Airlift Wing’s Aircraft Fuel Systems Maintenance Squadron and Federal Fire Ventura County firefighters run through the critical emergency operations that would take place if a fuel-cell maintenance worker were to become incapacitated while working inside the very small fuel tanks inside the aircraft’s wings.
